The 1996-98 Liverpool home shirt is a classic, complete with the larger badge of the time. The 1996-97 season saw exciting games and entertainment. There were 5-1 wins over Chelsea and Boro, with Fowler scoring four in the latter, a 6-3 victory against Sion and (another) rollercoaster 4-3 win over Newcastle. The 1997-98 campaign was the last that saw Roy Evans in sole charge of Liverpool, with 'the Spice Boys' era finding a new star in 18-year old Michael Owen. Having already scored on his debut the previous season, Owen struck 23 times in his first full season.
