Man Utd Ronaldo Shirts through the Years

Ronaldo will forever be remembered by Man Utd fans as one of the greatest to ever play at Old Trafford, following in the footsteps of many Man Utd legends to lead the site to domestic and European glory.

Manchester United travelled to Sporting Lisbon to play a pre-season friendly in 2003. United had been watching an exciting young prospect that had impressed with his raw talent, pace and skill on the ball. Before the match, Sir Alex Ferguson asked the Manchester United players to look out for a talented young player, but he did not give any name.  After 90 minutes, there was no doubt as to who he was talking about. After running the Man Utd defence ragged for 90 minutes, the United players came into the dressing room and told Ferguson that he needed to sign this kid. That 18 year old kid was Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Man United players waited patiently on the team bus as Fergie stayed behind to convince Ronaldo to sign for Manchester United. He didn't take much convincing, soon signing for £12.2 million. Cristiano Ronaldo had demonstrated a burning desire to be the best from an early age. Ronaldo went on to score 118 goals in 292 appearances for Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo went on to win the Balon'Dor in 2008, winning the Champions league and Premier League title with Man Utd on three occasions.

Ronaldo left for Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record breaking £80m, going on to cement is place as one of the world's greatest ever footballers, winning the Balon'Dor a further four times.
