The traditionalists will remember the classic vertical stripes in the Blaugrana colours of claret and navy blue, and there are many great examples. The yellow or Catalan Senyera flag details on the front bring the design to life, such as in 2013-14 or 2014-15. It helped that Barca won the Champions League in 2014-15. The 2009-10 home shirt had subtle edging with thin yellow and black lines at the neck and sleeve cuffs, to produce a similar effect. 

One of the most popular shirts among fans is the 1998-99 home shirt created to mark the club’s centenary, which remained in use until the end of 1999-2000. This shirt was notable for being the first one in a generation not to be striped, but with the 1899 and 1999 dates proudly straddling the crest, it was a hit.

For the individualist, Barcelona has had a stunning variety of away shirts such as bright mango (2009-10 away), cool mint (2010-11 away), orange to yellow gradient (2012-13 away), or the red and yellow stripes of 2013-14. But if you want a contrast, there is the simple black kit of 2011-12.
